J. Alex Hartzler is Managing Partner and Founder of WCI Partners, LP. Alex provides strategic guidance and oversight to WCI. Alex believes in the power of long-term patient capital to provide solid financial returns while building the larger community around those investments. He believes that community building, smart, environmentally-friendly development, and engaged business practices is fundamental to long term success in real estate and business.Alex was Executive Vice President and a partner of Webclients.net from 2000 until the company’s sale to ValueClick, Inc. in June 2005. Alex previously served as corporate attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll, P.C. from 1995-1999. He is a graduate of Penn State University (BA – Economics), The George Washington University Law School (JD), and was a Fulbright Scholar in Cologne Germany.
Alex is currently the Chairman of Sarona Asset Management a private equity firm investing in frontier and emerging markets around the world. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Ten Thousand Villages, an international handicraft distributor and retailer and Director of the Board of MEDA. He has been active in the impact investment arena for many years with Sarona and is a founding investor in several Sarona and MicroVest funds.
Alex is also the Publisher of TheBurg, a monthly community newspaper in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Dave Butcher is President and Partner of WCI. He is engaged in all aspects of planning, development, and management of WCI’s projects and daily operations.
Prior to joining WCI, Dave worked at the City of Harrisburg as an Urban Planner, coordinating the review and approval of various development projects throughout the city.
Dave is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA, Urban Studies, Phi Beta Kappa) and Temple University (MS, Community and Regional Planning). He is actively involved with the Urban Land Institute and has sat on various non-profit boards, including Habitat for Humanity, Harrisburg Young Professionals, and Historic Harrisburg Association.
In 2010, Dave was selected as a recipient of the Forty Under 40 Award by the Central Penn Business Journal, which recognizes young business leaders affecting positive change in the Central PA region.
Lori is Vice President, Director of Operations for WCI Partners. She manages the commercial and residential properties including leasing, property maintenance and client relations.
Lori attended Harrisburg Area Community College. She is also a proud graduate of the Community Leadership Harrisburg Series, Class of 2014. Lori serves on the Board for Paxton Ministries, as well as TheBurg Advisory Board.
She lives in East Pennsboro with her husband, Jim and son, Bradley. Lori enjoys photography and food blogging in her spare time.
Kristine Werley is the owner of Urban Interiors and is the design consultant to WCI for both commercial and residential properties. Kristine has designed over 40 homes in the Olde Uptown neighborhood and various commercial properties, including both locations for Little Amps Coffee Roaster. Her design aesthetic is mixing old and new while trying to reinterpret modern living in older homes.
Kristine graduated from The Pennsylvania State University and she lives in Harrisburg with her husband Alex and her cat, Smoke.
Annika is Operations Assistant for WCI Partners. She assists in the day to day office operations, tenant relations and scheduling of maintenance appointments. Annika joined WCI in April 2014, after enjoying staying at home with her daughter for six years, following eight years as an Executive Assistant at the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. She lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband, their daughter and two wonderful rescue dogs, a lab mix and a Pit Bull Terrier. In her spare time, she works extensively in animal rescue with the Furry Friends Network.
Ruth is the Operations & Leasing Associate for WCI Partners. She assists with leasing, property maintenance and client relations.
Ruth earned her B.S. in Cross-Cultural Studies at Toccoa Falls College in northeast Georgia. Prior to settling in Olde Uptown Harrisburg, she spent three years teaching in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ruth spends her leisure time playing team sports with local organizations, traveling to visit family, getting to know her local area, and spending quality time with friends.
